So, how do Moving Containers work?

Updated: Aug 5, 2021

If the notion of driving a moving truck makes you nervous, moving containers can be a good alternative. Moving containers are a good compromise between doing everything yourself and hiring a moving company to do everything for you in terms of both costs and labour.

Moving containers are essentially a moving truck without the vehicle. Read on to see if moving containers are a suitable match for your move if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a full-service move or if you don't want to drive a moving truck.

The Pros

  • There isn't a need to drive.

  • It's less of a headache than a do-it-yourself relocation.

  • Costs are less than those of a full-service move.

  • There are several storage choices available.

The Cons

  • Costs are higher than for a do-it-yourself relocation.

  • There was no assistance with loading and unloading.

  • Additional storage time may be required depending on availability.

  • It is necessary to have a driveway or a parking place.

Moving containers allow you to outsource a significant portion of the moving procedure (the driving) without having to hire a full-service moving company.

Basically, you're packing your stuff up and having a company possibly store AND deliver the goods. There's minimal challenge with this scenario, other than a non credible driver delivering the items.

A moving container business can typically deliver as many containers as are required to your residence. You just pack your possessions into the moving container and relax while the firm moves them to your new location. You unload your belongings when your container arrives, and the firm returns to collect it up.

Most container companies will hold your moving container in a facility until you're ready to unload into your new home if timing is a concern.

Still not sure if it's the right choice for you? That is why we are here.
