Sizes of standard boxes
Moving boxes are available in a variety of sizes, ranging from small to extra-large.
Small (approximately 16 inches) "12" x 12" x 12" These are great for storing books, CDs, and DVDs, as well as kitchen items.
Medium — approximately 18" x 16" x 18" "They're ideal for towels and other decorative pieces.
Large — Approximate dimensions are 18" x 18" x 24". Small appliances, bedding, drapes, and small pillows etc. are stored in them.
Extra-wide — Measures approximately 24" x 20" x 24" and is designed to accommodate large, lightweight objects such as comforters, pillows, and light equipment.
Specialty boxes
Specialty boxes are suitable for objects that are unusually shaped or need extra shielding.
A large box with a steel bar across the top for hanging clothes is referred to as a wardrobe box (tip: place shoes, belts and purses in the bottom).
Medium-sized dish pack with partitions to accommodate delicate items like cups and mugs, glasses etc.
Mirror & Picture — This type of frame is thin and smooth, and it's made to hold artwork and mirrors. Usually, these can be adjusted to multiple sizes.
TV — These are intended to cover flat-screen televisions, and most of them can stretch to match a 32”-70” television.
Lamp box — Designed to keep lamps and other tall objects secure and safe.
Small to medium boxes with handles and removable tops are known as office/file boxes.
